Tournament Rules:

  1. Teams can be Men and/or Women ages 18 and up that want to help rebuild Brandt Park in Matt Splinter's name.
  2. All teams must have completed roster before first game. A team may have up to 15 players on roster.
  3. Player can play with only 1 team during entire tournament.
  4. All bats must be ASA approved and have an ASA sticker. Also bats being used in tournament will be required to have a sticker (which will say Splinter Memorial Tournament) on the bat. The umpire will have the stickers and ASA bat list. Bat will only be allowed to be used if it has both stickers.
  5. 50 minute time limit per game.
  6. 3 home runs per game. Any home run after three 3 is an out. Inside the park home runs DO NOT count for the 3 home run rule.
  7. Fifteen run slaughter rule after 5 innings.
  8. Runner cannot leave base until ball is hit.
  9. No sliding at home. Runner has black, catcher has white.
  10. At first base runner has orange. First basemen has white.
  11. Pitch must be at least 6 feet high. Umpires discretion.
  12. Any person or persons thrown out of game by umpire will not be allowed into any more games in tournament.
  13. No metal spikes.
  14. Championship game has no time limit, no run rule. 3 home run rule will still apply.
  15. Injured runner can be replaced by last out.
  16. Extra inning games - Start with runner on second with 1 out.
  17. Any team caught using a non-approved bat (must be ASA approved with tournament sticker) will have to forfeit that game.

Home Run Derby Rules:

  1. $20.00 Entry Fee
  2. First 20 contestants to sign up are in.
  3. All bats must be ASA approved and also have tournament sticker.
  4. Pick your own pitcher.
  5. Each batter can watch only 1 pitch (without a swing) per round. Outs are awarded for each additional.
  6. First Round - 7 Outs - Top 10 move on
    Second Round - 5 Outs - Top 3 move on
    Third Round - 5 Outs - Move HR wins.
    If there is a tie, the contestants will get an additional 2 outs to decide who advances or who is the winner.
  7. An out consists of any swing not a home run (Miss, Foul, Pop-Up, Fly Ball ect...)
  8. Contestant tied at cut off (10 hitters) will move on in first round.
  9. Three pitch swing off if there’s a tie in second or final round.
  10. Each contestant is expected to help shag balls in the outfield.
